A large Industrious and populous town of Sivakasi was pseudonymed as “Mini-Japan” by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, having fame for Printing Industries, Match Industries and also Fireworks Industries. Shri. K.S.A. Arunagiri Nadar who was the beginner of establishing printing units M/s. National Litho Press in Sivakasi, hence become the landmark as “The founder of printing” in Sivakasi.
In 1948, The Sivakasi Master Printers’ Association was established which trot with phanage of having 256 units. Since 1977, ‘Graphic Arts School” has been established as one of the reputed private Polytechnic Colleges under self-financing scheme with the aim of producing quality technocrats. This college has been reputed resplendent certificate course for one and half years and Diploma course for three years in Printing Technology which produce the strength of about 150 candidates every year also they were placed in India and in other world wide. The impact of the institution is to mammoth in producing skilled technocrats and also in promoting the man power of printing units is really commendable.
In 1980, Thiru. M. G. Ramachandaran, Chief Minister of Tamilnadu laid plinth to our infrastructure. Later on, successive procession of building was erected and then inaugurated by the Education Minister, Mr.Araganayagam in the year 1982. In 1985, the aspirant course like Diploma in printing technology was introduced. After that Graphic Arts school was renamed as SIPT in the year 1988. SIPT is entitled as “SIVAKASI INSTITUTE OF PRINTING TECHNOLOGY”
With the liberal contribution from Mr. T. D.Rajendran, the hostel building was declared open on 1st April 1995 and named as K.P.A.T.Dharmaraj Nadar-Rajapoothai Ammal Hostel which can accommodate around 300 students. The Golden Jubilee celebration of Sivakasi Master Printer’s Association was held in the year 1999. Honorable Minister for law Mr. Aladi Aruna was the Chief Guest and he laid foundation for the new campus building which was constructed in a 14-acres land, donated by Sri G.D. Nataraj Prabhu and G.D. Gnanagiri Babu, M/S.Cornation Litho Works and Silver Jubilee was celebrated in the year 2003. During the Year 2006-2007, SIPT had rendered various Diploma courses such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and communication Engineering, Computer Engineering and Printing Technology with an intake of 260 Students. All the above mentioned courses had been approved by AICTE. In view of developing the infrastructure towards the upcoming courses, the college campus has been migrated to the site of about 24 acres which is located in Sivakasi –Virudhunagar main road, A.meenakshipuram, Anaikuttam, Sivakasi.
On 22nd August 2005, the campus ceremony was held and boring was put together on 27th August 2005. Finally, the campus work was carried out in a plenary manner during the month of May 2007. The Magnanimous Institute was migrated into a wide roomy campus along with well equipped laboratories situated at Anaikuttam on 11th July, 2007.
Infrastructure of our college is being made sophisticated in focusing the academic excellence and achievements. On the whole, the college campus has precincted the area of about 10,000 sq.ft. In the campus, there are 24 Lecture halls, 2 Drawing halls, Conference hall, Seminar hall, Luxurious library facility with plenty of books available for the betterment of the students. Students are gaining knowledge through ICT (Information Communication and Technology) techniques. In addition to that 217 systems are also available for computer laboratories and effective administrative work in the office. Broad band Internet is specially implemented up to 2 MBPS for getting high rate of data transfer for only uplifting the student’s knowledge caliber and upgrading the faculty members’ skills.

We have been organizing Blood camps, Cul- Fest, Intellectual Meet, Guest Lectures, Industrial visit, Short term courses like Hardware servicing & Networking, Mobile Technology, Print test quality, Spoken Hindi and Campus Interviews from various companies like TNQ E-publishing company, ITC, PHA, Chennai, wind care India Pvt. Ltd., Thirupur, Seljegath modern foil embossers, Lovely offset printers, Saroj printers, Sivakasi and so on at regular intervals. Separate hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. RO plant system for water facility is also available. In view of facilities, each and every place of our campus has been provided with sufficient drinking water and fire extinguishers are also available at laboratories for safe keeping the environment. Extra curricular activities like NSS, Students Exnora, Women in Development and Old Student Association have been functioned efficiently.
The Management, Principal and Members of the Staff strive hard for the personality development of our students. In this temple of learning, with an intake of 360 students, our institution has been enormously engraved in the heart of technocrats now and then.
